Then the couple prays before the altar, ask their ancestors for permission for their marriage, and express their gratitude to both families for raising and supporting them. In order to express their gratitude to their soon-to-be husband or wife, the groom and the bride exchange their wedding rings and receive the gifts from their parents and friends such as golden bracelets, ear rings and even money kept in an envelope.
